5 Skincare Facts you didn’t know about Amy

Here is a little window into my personal skincare favourites and habits. I have always been on a mission to lockdown my perfect skincare regime however, that truly is mission impossible!! Your skincare routine is very much like your wardrobe, you change things up and swap things out depending on what the weather or your complexion is presenting you with. Hence, why there are so many wonderful products available to us. So here are my 5 Skincare Facts you may not know about me...

Number One: Cleansing is my favourite step in my skincare routine! Is it a little sad that I actually look forward to washing my face?! It’s the facial equivalent of taking your bra off

Number Two: I prefer Serums over Moisturisers. I love the way serums absorb super quickly and have such powerful effects. I’ve grown to love moisturisers more as I’ve got older. I’m no longer an oily teenager and I do have some very trusty creams in my personal skincare stash.

Number Three: I think SPF is the hardest product to get right! It’s so crucial that we apply it every morning however finding the right one for each particular skin type can be tricky. Some are too greasy, too chalky or too thick….Once you’ve found the one for you, hold on to it tight!

Number 4: The skincare rule I always break is washing my face in the shower!! Some Skincare Experts think this is a no‐no as the water tends to be too hot. I disagree and think the steam element can often have beneficial effects. I wash my hair, my face and then my body in that order every single time. Unless you have your showers scorching hot, you should be absolutely fine!

Number 5: I love a face oil! Facial oil is an amazing product for nighttime and allows you to conduct the most wonderful face massage. You don’t need to have had any specific training to massage your own complexion. If you’re feeling puffy (I’d advise this in the morning) use firm, gliding movements from your jawline down to the base of your neck and from the centre of your face out towards your ears. If you need a bit of lifting and firming, use a firm pressure to conduct upward lifting motions.

If you need any help finding your ideal skincare products, please never be afraid to ask! I’m always more than happy to advise and guide
